CARS AND COUNTRY MUSIC

a long time ago, when laura lived in Saint Paul, we had to go to Tires Plus to get Laura's oil changed. we dropped her car off and then went to Cahoots until it was done. Yesterday, I had to get my oil changed. I went to tires plus, and while I was waiting they played so much country music. Laura would have loved it. It was super sad being there all alone though. I wish Laura would have been there to wait with me and listen to country music. :(

long distance friendship.

maintaining a long-distance friendship is really hard. i never get to see laura when i want to...skyping is inconvenient on my shitty computer...i don't get to talk to here very often...we sleep/are awake at different times. laura lives in the future. when i do get to talk to her it's hard to understand because of all the static fuzzy sounds...it's just hard. luckily, i've found an understanding community that helps me cope. in addition to my blog community, i use other websites like http://www.life123.com/relationships/friendship/long-distance-friendships/keeping-up-long-distance-friendships.shtml and www.squidoo.com/longdistance-friends. there are inspirational pictures, quotes, poems, and stories about long distance friendships. they really help me realize that, even though laura lives across the world from me, she is still my friend.

hey all, sorry i haven't posted in such a long time. i've been super busy, but that definitely doesn't mean i haven't been missing laura like crazy. In fact, i've been missing laura even more than usual. I have a lot to post about, so get ready for a July full of reading about how i miss laura! here is a picture of the two of us at laura's going away party!

baking

yesterday i went to jonathan's house and we made delicious vegan chocolate walnut fudge. we used the vegan sugar that laura gave to jonathan when she went to korea. it was sort of like we were baking with laura? i wish she could have been there though. they were super tasty. we couldn't have done it without laura's sugar. here is a picture of some vegan sugar!

korean ramen.

So ji soo just got back from korea and she brought me some vegan ramen. it's super tasty. i wonder if laura has tried it. hard to say really, but if she hasn't she totally should. i'll upload a picture of one of hte packages. yummy yummy. the koreans are way better at ramen than the americans. laura used to experiment with american ramen to make it better. she was such a good cook. :(

here i am being sad at the tea garden.

bubble tea

today i was thinking that i should go get some bubble tea from the tea garden. i immediately thought of laura. the first time i had bubble tea was with laura. it was during my first week at macalester. laura took me to the tea garden and then we went to her house and did homework/moved laura's stuff inside. the tapioca pearls were scary at first, and i got a stomach ache, but overall, it was a solid experience. later in the year me and laura made bubble tea together. it was soooo delicious. i need to go get the supplies so i can make some. i can't really remember how. i wish laura were here to do this with me...i'm too young to make bubble tea alone. :(
