now it's playing bjork...natch.

today i'm staying up all night for the second time this semester...not too bad compared to last semester, but still is a total bummer without laura. laura was a classic all-nighter buddy. we had so much fun listening to dave radio, doing our homework, and taking short study breaks....i'm in the kirk basement lab all alone. i wish laura were here...

One day when laura and i were in the kirk basement lab, we decided to take a study break and answer 100 questions as if we were the other person... i had to pretend to respond as laura and she had to respond for me. anyway, one of the questions asked what does your name mean and, what were you named after? laura responded: beautiful, named after beautiful people everywhere. if laura were here, i would tell her that her response to that question is one of my new favorite pick-up lines...probably second to: If looks could kill, you'd be a weapon of mass destruction.

not having laura around has really messed up my semester. i can't get anything done anymore...laura was always a pro at helping me plan out everything i had to do. with her around i was so much more rigorous. we used to write down things we had to do on post-its and hang them up in laura's room. i would have to call laura to have her take my post-its down when i finished something, but it worked, becuase i was held accountable you know? i miss her sooo much. this is a picture of a wall covered in post-it notes...our post-it wall wasn't quite this elaborate, but you get the picture.

it's 3:25 in the morning...about ten minutes past my birthday time, and i'm really missing laura. i'm freaking out about study abroad...i sort of decided that i'm going to leave the country in may and not return until january...that's seven months away from home! no fry'n pan, family, macalester, hard times, or anything i'm familiar with. my friends are trying to talk me out of it, and i'm really scared of committing that much time away from people, but i don't know what to do! laura help me!? bah.
i wish laura were here. she knows what it's like to be in another country for an extended period of time. i don't! bahhh.

on friday i got to talk to laura! it was so nice to hear from her. she told me about a korean game called baskin robbins 31...the game is pretty fun, but i wish i could have played it with her. :( bummer.
skyping with laura is nice though. my camera sucks or i don't really know how to use it, but here is a picture of me and laura skyping. i'm the little picture in the corner.

so, my post for yesterday was super lame, but i was really annoyed. I'm annoyed today too, but for different reasons... Today, J asked me if i wanted to go to hard times to do homework, and i was like yeah for sure...then we both realized that we can't really go because the buses stop running too early, and it wouldn't be worth going for such a short time...ugh. what a nightmare. now we just have to stay at macalester...again! okay, so i don't want this blog to be about complaining anymore, but seriously! when laura was here, she would always take us places. we went to museums, restaurants, grocery stores, and even hard times! those were the days! i miss you laurz

bahh... i'm super stressed today. Me, Maddie, and J are trying to figure out where to live next semester, and we all want to study abroad, but we don't have people to sublet for us. it's so frustrating! if laura were here she would have really good advice, because she had to deal with the same problem.
ahh! miss her!

Today I checked my SPO (student post office), and I had a postcard from Laura! I was so excited. I really miss her. When Laura was here, we used to sing a song about checking our SPOS:
from my dorm to the SPO, My dorm cross grand to the SPO, ahh SPO SPO beeeeep, ahh SPO SPO got mail...The song is sung to the tune of Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz' song Get Low. I think our version could be called Get SPO.

long ago, back when laura was around, we used to sneak joel dykstra stickers on people's backs. it all started when we stole a roll of stickers at a rock the vote concert. this is a picture of how we successfully sneaked a sticker on sam. if laura were around, i would tell her that last sunday i found those stickers and put one on dave's coat! i'm so sneaky! i miss you laura.

First post of all!

today i'm really missing laura, and i wish i could visit her. she's sick, but the koreans are still making her go to work! if i were in korea i would make laura some soup and tea. actually, laura would probably make me soup and tea, because she's really good at it...i would do the dishes. laura used to make me soup and tea all the time! even when i wasn't sick. those were the days.
i miss you laura!
