Dave

alright, so this is going to maybe be a long post, but its important. about a year and a half ago when i first moved to macalester, laura lived with dave. they each had there own rooms in a cute little house, but laura didn't have a bed so she slept with dave. hilarious right? adorable? awesome? something. anyway, laura's parents came for her birthday to buy her a bed, and we went to ikea to pick one out. we ended up being there for like 6 hours, and by the end of it, laura still didn't have a bed... so her and dave just kept sleeping together. i maintain that neither of them really wanted laura to actually get a bed because they enjoyed sleeping together, pillow-talk, and waking up next to each other every morning. regardless, we were at ikea...all day...this was my first time there, and i noticed that ikea names all of their products; you can get a floor lamp named kroby or a rug named alvine. anyway, me and thevangerpens were walking through the store...and we see this lap top work desk named dave! and seriously, of all little tables i've ever seen, this is the most dave-looking table of all...we thought it was pretty funny...we laughed about it and sent a picture to dave...i haven't really thought about the whole thing since then. until today. the office i work in has been doing some remodeling recently. we got a new couch, and we're planning some more renovations; it's a work in progress...today though,i walked in the office, and there, in front of one of the chairs, was a dave! it didn't have a label on it, but i knew it was a dave! i asked my professor where he got it, and he told me ikea! it's actually a pretty nice work station. i used it to do homework today, but it felt a little weird. i was so excited! i really wanted laura to get a dave when we were at ikea...or maybe i wanted her to get dave a dave. i can't really remember. but anyway, here is a picture of a few daves in different colors. the one we saw was white. the one in my office is white too. enjoy. i miss you laura. xoxo
