The first time laura i listened to 'we didn't start the fire' together was when i was in high school. laura was visiting home from macalester, and we were driving to Vermillion to go visit Emily. I was soo impressed because laura knew every word to the song! I used to try and learn them when i was little because janine said she would give me $20 if i did, but i was never successful. i realized how cool laura was, and we've been friends ever since...probz before that too, but this day was defining. every time i hear 'we didn't start the fire', i think of laura. when i was driving with ed, ben, and jon from yankton to MSP on monday, we listened to this song. i told them all about laura's knowledge of the lyrics, and couldn't stop thinking about her. when laura comes back to america, i'm totally going to listen to this with her. maybe i'll even know the lyrics by then!
